About Ontario Bee Rescue
Ontario Bee Rescue is a collective of 100 plus caring volunteer beekeepers dedicated to saving the honeybees. It was established in the summer of 2013 by Bruce and Joanne Richardson. We collect swarms of honeybees from tree branches, fences, vehicles etc. The collected honeybees will then be relocated to an established licensed apiary where they are able to thrive as beneficial pollinators to the local environment.
Our Goals Are:
– To provide a humane manner in which to remove honeybee hives from structures.
– Relocate the rescued honeybees to more suitable locations.
– To remain a not-for-profit organization with no fees.
We field several calls a day for bee rescues. Rescues involve driving many kilometers and spending several hours at a rescue site. The Honeybees survival depends on all of us. You can make a difference now. Any donation is very much appreciated. Thank You
Only registered beekeepers are eligible. If you are a registered beekeeper and wish to be on our swarm capture list, please notify us through facebook or our website. We are working closely with OBA (Ontario Beekeepers Association) to ensure that honeybees are saved from being destroyed by exterminators and pest control companies.
